Lorcet
Lorcet is a brand name for a pain medication combining acetaminophen and hydrocodone. Hydrocodone is an opioid pain reliever. As is the case with all prescription painkillers, Lorcet is safe … provided it’s used only as directed.
Taking too much Lorcet, sharing prescriptions with others or taking them longer than you needed to all qualifies as drug abuse. Hydrocodone is addictive, and long-term use can build up one’s tolerance to the drug. Users have to take more Lorcet to achieve the same affects.
There’s an additional risk. Including the non-narcotic pain reliever acetaminophen actually makes Lorcet safer to use – but in large amounts, acetaminophen can be toxic. Detoxing from Lorcet abuse can be complex; professional detox is the best route to take.
